Concept:  A meeting of interested parties who are concerned with nation formation and/or who strongly oppose this notion.  To discuss topics that are pertinent to nation formation and with the expressed intent of, if agreement is reached, initiating efforts that are designed to lead to nation formation.


Goal:  To hear the presentation of ideas concerning Afrodescendant nation formation, to conclude that nation formation is a process that should be undertaken, to form committees to carry out the work of nation formation, and to establish a framework for continued future efforts toward nation formation.


Call for Papers and Preliminary Program 


Submitted papers will be published on this Internet Web site.


Congress Fee:        $200 to cover the costs of Breakfast, Lunch, and Afternoon Tea/Coffee for two days; the cost of the meeting room and equipment charges; and taxes.  Congress registration has been extended until June 30, 2012.  However, no refunds will be issued for registrations after March 31, 2012.

Hotel Accommodations:  The 2012 Afrodescendant Congress on Nation Formation will be conducted at the Ala Moana Hotel, 410 Atkinson Drive, Honolulu, Hawaii 96814.  Congress participants should make their own hotel reservations either at the Ala Moana Hotel (at the going rate) or at any of several affordable hotels in the vicinity.   A list of hotels is available from Congress organizers upon request ( .
